Who is Eligible to Apply for an Real Estate License
- Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien or legally present in the U.S.
- Be at least 19 years old
- Show proof of bona fide residency in any state in the U.S.
- Show proof of high school graduation or the equivalent
- Not have been convicted of a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude
- Not have had a real estate application or license rejected or revoked in any state within the past two years.
Course Details
Course Format: Our courses are completely online and self-paced. Our courses are a combination of text and interactive elements which consist of true/false matching, vocabulary matching, scenario-based learning and more. This format makes our courses both interesting and engaging.
Reporting: In order to receive credit, you must register with AREC prior to completing the salesperson pre-license course. You can register here. We report course completions to AREC automatically on your behalf, typically within 1-2 business days. You may verify reported credits through the AREC website using these CMAP instructions.
Course Expiration: Expiration dates vary based on each course but are generally one year after your order date.
Final Exam: AREC requires license holders to pass the pre-license course final exam with a minimum score of 70%. The exam is not timed and consists of 100 multiple choice questions. If a student fails, they are allowed unlimited retakes.
Proctoring: AREC requires third party proctoring of pre-license course final exams. We partnered with PSI to offer proctoring at a low cost of $25 per exam attempt. This proctoring solution is 100% online and can be utilized at your convenience.
Licensing Exam: The state licensing exam is separate from the course exam and should be taken once you successful complete your pre-license course. You can register for the state license exam through Pearson VUE here.
Certificates: You will receive an electronic certificate of course completion upon successful course completion and submission of the sign affidavit.
